To continue with the pictures from Courtney and Jared’s wedding. My last post left off at the end of their ceremony. Now here’s the rest of their wedding day.
Enjoy!

Just a gorgeous wedding this was! It truly was a happy day. You might remember Courtney and Jared from their engagement session last year. I was so excited when their big day came about. I have so many favorite images from this wedding, that I’ve decided to break it up into two posts.
Courtney and Jared’s big day started at the Lions Gate Inn a Bed and Breakfast in Wake Forest, NC. This was such a beautiful and charming home. Courtney spent some time with all of her gal pals getting ready here. Lots of laughter filled the Katherine Room as they got ready. Before we headed to the ceremony, we were able to take some beautiful bridal portraits before Courtney left.
The ceremony and reception were both held at the Cotton Company in downtown Wake Forest. The room was gorgeously decorated with little white twinkle lights, tea lights and red and orange flowers. Just a beautiful warm and cozy room. The ceremony was sweet and beautiful. From Jared meeting his bride halfway down the aisle to the very personalized vows exchanged, it was hard not to keep a dry eye.
As soon as the ceremony started, the partying began. And this group loved to party. Once the dance music started, the dance floor was not empty once. There were guests and family members of all ages dancing the whole time. It was so wonderful seeing everyone having a nice time.
These are just a few of the many beautiful images that I received from their wedding. I’m so thankful that Courtney and Jared trusted me and hired me to captured their beautiful day. I hope you enjoy their images as much as I do.

Now that life has slowed down, the holidays and the vacation to Disney are over; I can sit down and blog about this gorgeous couple that I photographed in December. I worked with Wendy Boyer of Dancing Heart Photography (which was an absolute blast!) Kristi and Jake were just the most adorable couple ever! With her flair for fashion, drama and a little bit of silvery, wintery bling the wedding was gorgeous. The girls all got ready at the Sheraton in downtown Raleigh, where there were flat irons everywhere and hairspray floating in the air. There was the sheer giddiness that you could fee from all the gals. Just so much excitement and joy in the air.
While Wendy photographed the bride before the ceremony, I went to the Jones Chapel on Meredith College’s campus to photograph the groom and all his guys waiting for the big event. Jake was adorable. You could tell how excited he was to get “the show on the road”. He was so touched when he opened his special gift from Kristi.
The ceremony was beautiful with very many intimate touches at the chapel. You could just tell how excited the couple was to finally become a couple. Eyes were twinkling with tears of happiness from everyone.
After some formals were done at the church, on to the reception at the Sheraton we went. Before heading inside to the party, Wendy and I took some alone time with the bride and groom for some fun and unique shots. We took complete advantage of all the gorgeous lights outside Fayetteville Street for the holiday season.
Then we headed inside to the warmth and get down to party! This was a family whose love was great for each other. There were many hugs and kisses, congratulations and just joy flowing all around! After a delicious dinner the dancing began. And this group knew how to dance and get down. The time quickly flew by and before we knew it, it was time for the newlyweds to make their grand exit, complete with sparklers, into the dark night.
I wish Kristi and Jake the best of luck on their new adventure together. Thank you for including me in your incredibly special day.

I was so excited last weekend to second shoot with my friend and fellow photographer, Tammy Fisher of Tammy Fisher Photography. Despite the heat and a late afternoon thunderstorm, it really was the perfect day for a wedding. The ceremony and reception was held at a gorgeous venue, Rosedown Plantation. This is the perfect location to hold a wedding full of southern charm. From the long driveway with the mature oak trees to the beautiful white plantation home with a double porch, it is the ideal place to take pictures and get married.
The bride did a wonderful job of making sure all the details were just perfect. From the summery tangerine bridesmaid dresses to the orange and yellow flowers used in the arrangements to the cake and food, everything was perfect. Now there was one small glitch in the day, a huge thunder and lightening storm rolled in right when the partying was about to start. And guess what, even that didn’t damper the festivities. All the guests just pulled their chairs a little closer, a few tarps were thrown up around the tent and the dancing just kept going.
I’ve been so blessed with the families and weddings that I’ve photographed this year. Everyone has been so nice and warm and open. This wedding was no exception. You could see how much everyone loved each other and how gracious they were. There were lots of smiles and hugs and “I love you’s” exchanged. Just really makes a person feel so warm inside and I was very honored to photograph this event.
Thank you again Tammy for inviting me to photograph this special event with you. I had so much fun and it was an honor to work with you.

Oh there are so many things swimming through my head as I think about Amber and JD’s wedding. My relationship with them began close to a year ago and I’m completely honored that I have been able to record their love through photography. You might remember this gorgeous couple from their engagement session this fall at Yates Mill Pond. They are just oozing with adoration for one another. You can just tell from watching the little details as they interact they just are made for one another. Their fingers would find a way to effortlessly intertwine. The small glances and quick smiles that they exchanged when they thought no one was looking, almost as if they were having a secret conversation. How easily they will laugh with one another. How comfortable JD’s hand finds and rests in the small of Amber’s back and how Amber seems to relax and seem at peace as soon as her head rests upon JD’s chest. It really was a beautiful to watch.
You can tell where each of them learned to love with their whole being. Both of their families are just fiercely loving and warm people. You could see from the gleam in the mother’s eyes how proud they were of their children. The speeches from JD’s and Amber’s sisters were beautiful. They were so proud of their sibling and couldn’t be happier for them. The dads were just about to burst with happiness. And let’s not forget the joyous shouts of “Opa!” from the guests to show their excitement.
Amber and JD really did have their dream wedding. So much care and detail went into choosing the perfect location to get married. They chose the St. Mark’s Chapel at the Mordecai Historic Park in downtown Raleigh. Such a quaint and beautiful little white chapel. Reverend Kayelily Middleton officiated the ceremony and it was beautiful! Her words were so moving! The little touches of honoring parents and grandparents was just very special.
The grounds at the park are gorgeous and were just made to be used for wedding portraits. After lots of pictures were taken everyone moved the party to the reception at Amber’s parent’s home. They had a gorgeous outdoor, garden reception. There was so much attention paid to the details. There were beautiful purple and lavender roses everywhere! Hanging from the inside of the tent were adorable purple and green paper lanterns. The food was delicious from BabyMoon Cafe. Seriously you can’ t bea
t homemade Italian food.
Enough of me talking about their wedding. I know you want to see their pictures. But I really wanted to describe how beautiful and wonderful a wedding this was. I will always remember this wedding fondly. I wish Amber and JD so much luck and love in this new chapter in their life.

A couple of weeks ago, I met with this fantastic couple for their engagement photos. The weather hadn’t been too kind to us for our previously scheduled sessions but I guess the third times a charm. The weather was fantastic and I couldn’t have asked for it to be any better. This couple was so much fun to be with and there was so much joking around and laughing. It wasn’t like a session but more like hanging out with old friends. I can’t wait to photograph their wedding in October! I know I’m definitely going to have a blast!!!

Autumn and I traveled to Greeville, NC this weekend to photograph Megan and Jim’s wedding. What an amazing day they had. From gorgeous blue skies and fantastic blue wedding shoes; to an amazing first kiss as husband and wife; and amazing toasts that showed how much these two are loved. They couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day! Just wonderful. This is just a sneak peek to tide them over until all their proofs are done and ready. Megan and Jim, I wish you both the best of luck and many years of happiness ahead.

I just finished up this wedding from January. I headed down South to the beautiful city of Charleston, SC. My friend Karen was getting married to the wonderful Carlo. I was soooo excited about this wedding. I couldn’t wait to see them again. The last time I saw them was when Carlo was made a Drill Sargent for the US Army. I met his family then and knew how wonderful and sweet they are.
The wedding was held at the beautiful Seabrook Island House. Everything was beautiful. The weather even cooperated so that Karen and Carlo were able to have some pictures taken on the beach.
Following the afternoon wedding ceremony, the reception was kicked off with a delicious raw bar outside on the porch. As the sun set, the party moved in for more food, fun and dancing. There were so many beautiful toasts given and you could really feel the love that both families felt for Karen and Carlo.
I wish both Karen and Carlo the best. I know you will have many happy and joyous years ahead of you.

I met up with this absolutely adorable couple a couple of weeks ago. We decided to take their pictures in downtown Raleigh. I had so much fun working with them. They were so in love and had no problem showing it in front of the camera. I think the pictures alone speaks how much they love each other. It was a pleasure working with you and I wish
you the best of luck.

This week’s 52 Friday theme was journey. At first I wasn’t sure what to do or use. Then it dawned on me that I photographed my friend Karen’s wedding last weekend. What is more appropriate than an wedding image. I think about the journey and life experiences that a couple has ahead of them. Karen and Carlo are so lucky to have found each other. The love that they have for one another is so beautiful. The wedding was absolutely touching with all the toasts and speeches. You could tell both sides of the family just values their family. I wish them the best of luck with the journey that they have in their future.

On a personal note, I went on a journey for this wedding. I traveled down to Charleston, SC for the nuptials. Before returning home we had a couple hour photo walk in and about the beautiful city of Charleston. She really takes my breath away with her delightfully painted “Rainbow Row” and the tourist carriages pulled by mules. It was so much fun to walk around and see the sites even if it was only for a few hours. We are hoping to get back there sometime this spring before the heat and humidity gets too oppressive for a fun girls weekend.

Now head on over to Tabitha’s blog to see where her journey takes her.
