Wow! How quickly 31 days went by. I feel like it was just last week that I was in Hilton Head and had shown you my sunrise/sunset collection of pictures from that day. But a lot has happened since that week. Our family has celebrated the month with smiles and hugs had moments of great sadness with the loss of a dear family member.
We celebrated in grand style this year. We packed up the entire family, including grandparents on both sides and made the 9 hour road trip to the happiest place on Earth. Yup. We celebrated Christmas and my daughter’s birthday at Disney! What a magical way to end the year this has been. Not only was this my children’s and husbands first time to this magical place.
My daughter’s birthday is two days after Christmas. I feel guilty that her birthday and Christmas all get rolled into one. For my daughter’s 6th birthday, we spent the day at Epcot where she got to talk to all the princesses and had a very special dinner with just dear old mom, Grandma and Nana. I decided to use the pictures from this day for my 10 on 10. When you get done looking at my pictures be sure to go to head on over to Dana Cubbage’s blog to get a peak at her day. Then follow the blog circle around so you can see what all 10 of us have been up to.
Just entered the park at Epcot. Waiting with Nana.
These gorgeous topiary were in all the parks. On a side note, not sure what was going on with Grace’s hair here. It has a wild woman look to it.
First Pair of Ears! We have ears, say cheers!!!
Some of the princesses that the kids met. Cooper seemed to have problems keeping his tongue in his mouth for most of the pictures during the trip. Boys will be boys!
Funny little chipmunks that would stop hugging Grace. The poor girl behind us was trying to get her autograph book signed and Chip (or Dale, not sure which) wouldn’t stop hugging or kissing Grace.
Sitting on PaPa’s lap waiting to go into Mr. Ray’s lagoon, which was very entertaining.
Formal picture with Belle right before sitting down to eat dinner.
Excitedly waiting for the princesses to come to our table to talk with her.
The birthday cupcake.
A birthday card signed by all the princesses!

I was contacted by these two sisters about two months ago. They wanted to surprise their parents with new pictures of them with their pups. Now aren’t these sweet, doggie faces too cute! And for all the other people around us during their session, they did splendidly.
The sisters are die hard Carolina fans and wanted to do their session at UNC Chapel Hill’s campus, at the historic old well. (Die hard to thee point where they flew out to San Diego to watch the big game against Michigan State on the aircraft carrier. Now that’s a fan!) The legend is that if you drink on the fountain on the first day of class, you will have good luck all year. Well I hope these pictures bring them good luck in 2012! And if nothing else, they will be sure to bring some smiles to their mom and dad’s face.

Oh how I adore this family. Well, honestly I adore all of the families that I photograph but the H family has a special place in my heart. This is the third time photographing them and I’ve loved documenting them. You might remember their maternity session. Mmmm, gorgeous mama and gorgeous light. Then I was welcomed back into their home after their 4th child was born for some newborn portraits. I loved how excited and loving all of his big brothers and sister were. And now here we are, a few months later for some official family portraits. When I suggested including their big, gorgeous great dane in the session, they were all so excited. I know that great danes are supposed to be fantastic family dogs but I wouldn’t have believed it until I saw it. He was just so relaxed and chill despite the children pulling on his ears and even sitting on his back for a bit.
The day was fantastic for family pictures. Lots of smiles and hugs and cuddles. I hope you enjoy their pictures as much as I do!
These were all processed a little different from my normal processing. I used the Clickin Moms Lightroom Film Art Presets.

This is one of my favorite families to photography. Not only are they gorgeous with their dark hair and shocking blue eyes, they are super-duper nice and caring. There was lots of laughter and smiles during this session. Mom had asked suggestions on what to wear for their session and I just said, “Color. Lots of color!” Well she took it and ran. The family just looks beautiful. I was shocked to find out that she didn’t purchase a single thing for the session. Everything came from their own closets.

Sessions don’t get any more sweet than this.
Start with a husband and wife, add in two sweet little girls, a touch of purple and a sprinkling of flowers and you end up with a gorgeous session like this. Ahh, just perfection. I love sessions that end with families having beautiful pictures and beautiful memories.

I was on Facebook this weekend and one of my clients had put up a picture of her mantel decorated for Christmas. I was so excited to see my images from this session printed large and hanging there! I emailed Crystal immediately and asked for a copy! You have no idea how giddy and happy I get when I see my art decorating my clients homes. I grin every time I see this picture. Thanks Crystal for sharing. Oh and that mantle is ROCKIN’ for Christmas. Just love it!!!
If you have a picture of my photography decorating your home, please send it to me and I will be sure to blog and brag about it!

Oh these sweet little cuties! They were a dream to photograph once young Jack got used to me (and a little bribery with some Coca-Cola). I love how the love this family just shines through in these pictures. The gentle touches from mom, the fun rough housing with dad. It really makes my heart sing when I’m able to photograph families that relax and are just themselves in front of the camera.

This family is super adorable. I’ve known them for about a year now and was super excited to photograph them for my Christmas mini special. The boys are just super adorable and the mom is crazy fashionable.
The boys gave me lots of nice grins and giggles. The little one is also quite the comedian. As soon as mom jumped in the pictures, he turned to her and said, “Pull my finger!” Just classic!!! He had all of us rolling for the rest of the session.
It was a great morning and I hope you enjoy their peek!

This week’s prompt was “Definition…what defines you?” This was an easy week. My family easily defines me. And my children are the essence of me. They are now old enough where I can hear them mimicking and repeating my “pearls of wisdom”. My son just today told me that it wasn’t the end of the world if we left his monster truck at home. When they hug me or kiss on me, I can see myself they way they see me.
My husband is crazy supportive of me as a mother and business owner. He’s never questioned any of the choices that I’ve made for our family. His actions have been a huge support to me. Chris, Grace and Cooper make me strive to be a better wife and mother and more importantly a better person. Through their love, I see myself.
Now head on over to Lynn’s blog to see how she defines herself.
